Prov\u00e9m do decaimento do ur\u00e2nio presente nas rochas e solos, onde atrav\u00e9s de fissuras e fendas ascende \u00e0 superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n<p>O rad\u00e3o est\u00e1 presente em todo o lado e normalmente as concentra\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o baixas no ar exterior devido \u00e0 dilui\u00e7\u00e3o e dispers\u00e3o, mas no interior de edif\u00edcios o rad\u00e3o pode acumular-se e as concentra\u00e7\u00f5es serem elevadas.<\/p>\n<p>A inala\u00e7\u00e3o de rad\u00e3o \u00e9 a maior fonte de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 radia\u00e7\u00e3o ionizante da popula\u00e7\u00e3o contribuindo em mais de 40% para a dose efetiva. A exposi\u00e7\u00e3o prolongada ao rad\u00e3o no interior de edif\u00edcios \u00e9 a segunda causa de cancro do pulm\u00e3o, depois do tabaco, e a primeira causa em n\u00e3o fumadores.<\/p>\n<p>Devido principalmente \u00e0 geologia, algumas zonas apresentam concentra\u00e7\u00f5es mais elevadas. Para se obter<strong> concentra\u00e7\u00f5es rigorosas de rad\u00e3o<\/strong> em determinado edif\u00edcio (casa, local de trabalho) \u00e9 <strong>necess\u00e1rio a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de testes. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>UMA EMPRESA EM PORTUGAL \u00c9 OBRIGADA A FAZER A AVALIA\u00c7\u00c3O DE RAD\u00c3O?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sim<\/strong>, de acordo com a legisla\u00e7\u00e3o portuguesa, <strong>as empresas s\u00e3o obrigadas a fazer a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de rad\u00e3o<\/strong>. O rad\u00e3o \u00e9 um g\u00e1s radioativo natural que pode estar presente em ambientes fechados, como resid\u00eancias e locais de trabalho. A exposi\u00e7\u00e3o prolongada ao rad\u00e3o pode ser prejudicial \u00e0 sa\u00fade, aumentando o risco de desenvolver cancro de pulm\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o Decreto-Lei n\u00ba 108\/2009, de 15 de maio, todas as empresas que t\u00eam trabalhadores expostos a n\u00edveis significativos de rad\u00e3o devem realizar a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de rad\u00e3o, bem como implementar medidas de preven\u00e7\u00e3o e controlo dos seus efeitos.<\/p>\n<p>A realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de rad\u00e3o em edif\u00edcios e locais de trabalho \u00e9 geralmente feita por entidades especializadas e certificadas, como empresas de engenharia e consultoria ambiental.
